EAT, DRINK, WRITE, SPEAK—IT’S WHAT I DO

Once a chef, then a journalist, now an author, ghostwriter, speaker and pairings leader

I never planned to write about food and drink, but 11 years working in restaurants, serving tables, cooking and reading industry trade publications drew me in. And eventually, I left the restaurant biz—to write about it.

For three decades I’ve covered every aspect of restaurants for leading magazines and websites while branching out as an industry copywriter.

Living in Kentucky led me to the bourbon industry and its boundless stories. In addition to writing for multiple spirits publications, I help distilleries share their unique messages through web and marketing content creation.

While writing my first book, I discovered that food pairs really well with spirits. I now lead food and spirits pairings in person and virtually.

I also enjoy ghostwriting, getting into another’s mind and putting their thoughts to paper. Few things gratify me like a client saying, “That’s exactly what I was thinking! How did you do that?” A couple of “ghosted” books, countless speeches, position papers and blogs later, I’m still loving it.
